2010 Hunt for Country Capitals Introductions - continued

Kristvallabrunnsschool - Team 6

Narragansett Elementary School - team Prest

Meet Mrs. Prest’s Class:

We are fourth graders from Mrs. Prest’s class at the Narragansett Elementary School in Rhode Island. There are 24 students in our class and there are about 450 students in our school, which has grades Preschool-4.
The best part of our town is that we are located right on the coastline. During the summer it’s a very busy beach community but it gets quieter in the winter. We are located about 30 miles from Providence, the capital of Rhode Island, and 90 minutes from Boston.  Rhode Island is the smallest state but it has over 400 miles of coastline! During the summer we love to swim, surf, skim-board, canoe, kayak, sail and more. We would love if you could come and visit us.  Good luck playing the game!

Introduction

Greetings to all our fellow team mates on kidslink - Hello everyone.

We are the Whitkirk team here at the Springs Alive Children's Centre(SPACC) in UgandaYou may want to know where the SPACC is located? We are in Uganda,Wakiso District, Kakiri Town Council in Sebbi Lugeye village. Have you ever heard of this before or maybe visited here before? :)

There are already 150 children in our school, and we continue to build the school and make it better and better, thanks to our friends and partners in the United Kingdom. We learn maths, reading, science, English, Arts and Crafts, Music and other subjects. Springs Alive school is very important to us as many of us are orphans or living with single parents, so the school is a place for us to learn and make ourselves a new future.

We are looking forward to this next landmark project and cannot wait to hunt for capitals.

We look forward to making new friends and connecting with others all over the world.

Good Luck Everyone!

We love learning about all subjects.  Right now, we’re studying different communities in social studies.  We will be going on field trips to visit urban, suburban, and rural communities so we can compare them later.  In science, we have worm bins so we can learn about decomposition and vermicomposting.  We are very excited about Hunt for Country Capitals Game and look forward to the challenge!
