The kites are an expression of freedom because with them you are able to approach the sky, and then you fly in the sky your dreams fly free with you. ...

Project Summary and Description
- The kids will plan and then they will build their kites.
- They paint their kites 
- They will write on their kites a peace/love messages.
       We suggest you to use the Haiku structure to create your messages.
- The kids, step by step will post their drafts, plans, construction methods and materials in their personal pages in KidSpace. 
- The kids will write also their poem and their life vision. 
-  All kids will fly their kites in the same day and they will share the pictures of this event.

Required Materials:
- Participants will need a scanner, camera and e-mail access.
Students will be encouraged to post their work directly on their pages in KidSpace, and also to view the pages of other participants and post comments to those pages as well.
Participants will also be encouraged to post messages to the KidProj listserv inviting other Kidlinkers to come and view their work.

Project Timeline:
This is an ongoing project. Participants may join the project at any time throughout the year.

Target Age Group:
This project is for any age group.

Objectives:

  • to participate in a multi-cultural and global collaborative environment.
  • to share drafts, plans, methods to build the kites with other students
  • to access online information while researching plans of kites and Haiku.
  • to interact with other students online
  • To take the features of a geometrical figure
  • To be able to measure and to divide a surface
  • To follow the operative instructions to build the kite
  • To make an own message to communicate emotional content
  • To use art to communicate emotions and fears.
  • Learn a technique well enough to be able to use it to express what you feel
  • To be able to translate your thoughts in image and significant short poemes

How to Join the Project
Teachers should register for the project by sending the following information to the project moderator
