Biography

Biography

Just what is a biography?

The story of someone's life?

A tale of accomplishment?

A tale of woe?

Or is it a boring list of facts that nobody cares about?

A good biography brings the person to life . . . makes us care about what she or he did with time and opportunity.

Activity:

Read a biography and submit a review to Hooked on Books.

Select an American legend, perhaps, Johnny Appleseed, Daniel Boone or Davy Crockett.

Read about an historical figure like Anne Frank, Mother Teresa or Nelson Mandela.

How about an artist like Mary Cassatt, Cezanne or Van Gogh?

There have been people who made a difference such as Jane Addams, John Muir, Florence Nightingale and Benjamin Franklin. An account of their lives would make for interesting reading.

How about popular music stars like Beyonce or John Mayer?
