Ms.Dung's Classroom

I am Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung, an English Tutor in a rural Vietnam . I am teaching English for kindergartens and primary students.
'Can you become fluent in a language without living in the native country?' is the question I always ask myself during teaching English for my students, even if we live in a small town with low educational development.
Then, I realized that using technology in teaching and connecting with the world is possible nowadays because we can use internet as a tool of distance learning and teaching.
And finally, I found Microsoft Education Community and became a Microsoft Innovative Educator in 2019. Since 2019, I have learnt how to connect with global educators through Skype and get learning opportunities to empower my students in the modern classroom.
Although my students don't have many chances to experience online learning or activities to enhance their learning skills through technology tools due to their ages and local educational conditions, to encourage their confidence of learning English, I have used Skype in classrooms as a amazing tool focus to explore global learning world
and meet great students and educators. In my experience, students are better in learning when it comes to visual activities where i get help from collaboration with other educators to create topics which our students can make presentations or interact each other.
To practice speaking skills, I have used Flip grid to record the videos for my students following topics I made and shared by many global educators in Flip grid Community.
Fortunately, great Educators always welcome me to be with them in training courses to improve teaching skills and in global collaboration projects to be powerful learning experiences. The biggest difficulty is about language barrier and work pressure of our traditional education system here, but I believe in Global Collaboration provides meaningful learning opportunities that help students learn about everything while developing their skills with 21st century technologies.
Increasingly, to be a successful member of society our students must be equipped with knowledge and skills which are needed to participate effectively with others both locally and globally.
Therefore, I write down these things to hope that we can understand the importance of learning English, a global language of everything you want to reach.
The more challenges we overcome, The more successful we become.
