"My Imaginary Friend"
The Jury says: Once again the jury had a very difficult time deciding on the winners from among so many talented entrants, so congratulations to everyone who took part. In the end, the winners all just have something extra that makes them stand out.
In the 11-and-under age group, the jury were very enthusiastic about Pramila’s carefully painted bird and we liked the way she had placed it in a mountain landscape. Vijayendra’s finger painting is very colourful and spontaneous and has a lovely sense of movment. We also liked Aditi’s dog very much, and the way she has created a colourful background. Jean from Brazil is also to be congratulated on his lively, colourful friend.
In the 12-and-over age group, Kedark’s graphic depiction of a stag was a favourite with the jury. The flat areas of colour are very striking and the same is true of Wallace’s picture of a boy by the beach. We enjoyed the small, carefully drawn details in Priyanka’s picture and the feeling of movement in Manima’s drawing. Finally, how could we resist Beatriz’s amazing creature. Beatriz – we would like to see her dance! (Caroline Glicksman: Head of jury.)
