Kidlink encourages translations of Kidlink's Web pages, and development
of local Kidlink-related material.
Such material may be first developed to be posted on local servers,
but they must then be mirrored to www.kidlink.org subject
to the guidelines below.
Local servers are encouraged to carry mirrors of www.kidlink.org
subject to these guidelines.
Note: Mirrors must be copied directly from www.kidlink.org.
It is not permitted to mirror from other hosts mirroring www.kidlink.org.

3. Local development and storage of Kidlink
Web pages
Authorized Kidlink Web pages may be developed and posted on a local
Web server.
Authorization procedure
Authorization is given by KWebmaster based on
a written description of the LWeb development plan.
This description must contain:
- An overview of the planned pages with a detailed description
of the pages' interface (links) with other non-Kidlink pages on
the same server.
- Name of the local contact person with email address. This will
be KWebmaster's key local contact in connection
with locally developed Kidlink material.
- Name of the local person(s) responsible for maintaining the
local language versions of the web pages that must be translated
as specified in Kidlink's Web Strategy document.
- The FTP address, including password and user name, that KWeb
staff can use to mirror LWeb to KWeb.
Assumptions
- Web pages are designed in such a way that mirroring is easy
using Kidlink's standard mirroring procedure. All locally
produced pages must be in one directory with subdirectories, and
subdirectories must only contain Kidlink material.
- Contents and translations must be created in accordance with
Kidlink's electronic publishing strategy.
LWebmaster agrees to translate the required minimum and either
translate or refer in full to the 'General Kidlink Information'
files found in: http://www.kidlink.org/english/general/dirinfo.html.
- LWebmaster agrees to have one identifiable
person that is responsible for maintaining important Kidlink information
pages. This person must be in place before distribution of Web
based information about Kidlink can start.
- ALL Web pages must be dated so that visitors can see when the
page was created/updated.
- Advertisements (including banners) or outside links on locally
developed Kidlink pages require the approval of Kidlink's Project
Director.
- LWebmaster agrees to insert any requested advertising
banners in recognition of sponsor support. Such requests may only
come from KWebmaster or Kidlink's Project Director.
Note: If banners of this type are prohibited
by local norms, bylaws, or regulations as stated by the local
Internet provider, then this obligation is void. In such a case,
LWebmaster and KWebmaster will work out
a solution that accommodates the needs of both parties.
- KWebmaster maintains a contents quality assurance
organization . This organization will periodically check locally
developed material for correctness by searching/using the mirrored
directories on KWeb.
- LWebmaster agrees to quickly update material identified
as being out of date.
- KWebmaster is responsible for mirroring locally
developed files to KWeb. LWebmaster is
responsible for mirroring agreed directories to the local server.
Kidlink encourages a full mirror of KWeb (excluding
the pages developed locally, and already existing on LWeb).
- KWebmaster maintains a Web page with a list of authorized mirror sites.

The term 'unauthorized Kidlink Web pages' refers to:
- locally developed Web pages containing Kidlink information that
have not been approved by KWebmaster;
- partial or full mirror copies of www.kidlink.org that have not
been approved by KWebmaster.
Unauthorized Kidlink Web pages are not permitted to use the Kidlink
logo on any pages, unless they have permission in writing from Kidlink's
Project Director.
