Kidlink in the Media and The KIDS-91 Newsletter

Using Meeting Results
To Promote Their Causes

  1. Publish and promote minutes and/or chatlogs created after the meeting.
    • Links to minutes are regularly posted at the issue pages' resource listings. Example from No drugs!
    • Announcements of new discussion minutes may be made in the respective issue track, at the K-Portal, and elsewhere.
When your students have written the minutes, send to Odd de Presno and ask for help.He will post the minutes, make links, and make web based announcements.

    Minutes should contain:

    • the venue (like mailing list name, Kidlink IRC, KidSpace Communities.)
    • time of the meeting
    • topic that was discussed
    • participants (limited to nicknames and countries in view of some countries' privacy regulations).
    • results and conclusions
    • agreed action (who has agreed to do what when)
  2. Challenge your students to send an announcement of the minutes to the KIDCAFE-INDIVIDUAL and Kidcafe-School mailing lists.
  3. Let your students review the ideas in the "Make society pay attention to what you think!" page of each issue's track. For an example of these pages, click here. Contents across tracks are rather similar.
  4. Send information to Kidlink's newsletter
  5. Challenge them to send a press release to local media, and talk with journalists.

Discuss whether a follow-up meeting is needed.
