Translating
The Official Presentation
- 2 -

A list of pages to translate is provided at dirinfo.html in each directory for easy reference. There are links to these pages at the bottom of the /english/general/dirinfo.html page. Pages to translate are ranked by importance. Translators should start from the top.
The pages listed under "Read these pages first!" in the directory with information for teachers must be translated for a language to have a link to these pages from Kidlink's top page. These pages are:
  1. /english/general/overview.html
  2. /english/general/intro.html
    see this example with comments
  3. /english/general/index.html
    (see special guidelines!)
  4. /english/general/snapshot.html
  5. /english/general/learning.html
  6. /english/general/response.html
  7. /english/general/privacy.html
  8. /english/general/adults.html
  9. /english/general/support.html

There are less than 5,000 words to translate. These pages have links to other web pages in our "General Introduction to Kidlink" directory, created to help widen the Kidlink experience for visitors. Translations are to be verbatim.
We hope these nine pages will help us find persons willing to translate some other web page listed at dirinfo.html into this language.

Note: If you want to direct users to an online dictionary resource to support their reading and work, you may do this by creating a new page called /language/dictionary.html . Here, you may present the online dictionary, and provide a link to where it is available for users. A link to /language/dictionary.html may be done in your translated web pages' footers.
