Meet Robbert
Let Your Kids Photo of Robbert Uittenbroek in Perú, 1999 |
| This is for those of your children
interested in computers, software, and the Internet. Let them meet this "kid"
who has already spent a large part of his life in
Kidlink's virtual corridors looking for a chance
to learn, and challenging things to do.
In 1994, when 15 years old, Robbert registered saying the following about his desired future career: "I'd really like to be a computer-programmer (computer freak?) .." He started as an avid user of our Kidcafe and "chat" services, and co-published KIDZINE, a "Kidlink online magazine for kids, by kids." In 1995, he became an IRC Helper, and rubbed shoulders with adults in various volunteer positions. Over the years, his contributions have led to recognition in The Kidlink Hall of Fame. Today, he is manager of Kidlink's Technical and Web Support team, and renders advice on programming, databases, interactive web pages, technical solutions, new search tools, metadata, editor tools, mirror administration, statistics, logfile analyses, interfaces to Listserv. Handles emergency web upload problems for contents producers. |
