Teacher and Youth Reflections
Who-Am-I?

Drawings. Scanned. Nevena (10) girl Yugoslavia 2002

Teachers sent the following reflections following the 'Through Our Eyes' projects where classes of Kidlink students wrote a collaborative essay about a special place where they live.

From Regina Royer:

I found the collaborative part of the activity to be the most challenging but it was also rewarding. I think that kids benefit from going through the writing process orally because they get to hear the thoughts of other writers. Each sentence was discussed by the group and students could hear the many ways that any one sentence could have been written. Then they had to decide which way was best and I think all students benefitted because they learned that the best writing isn't done during the first attempts but through revision. I hope your classes also benefit from writing the essay.
