grammar, writing, spelling, and literature, and so have to structure my time
to get things completed."
There are many ways to bring grammar, writing and spelling into any of our projects. If you are working on subject/verb agreement, make sure your students compose Who-Am-I? messages that address this skill. If letter writing is the skill of the week, have your students compose a letter for other WAI participants using letter form. Challenge your students to use several of their spelling words in their Who-Am-I? correspondence. As for a literature connection.... You can always have your students write a message to tell other participants about a story they are reading. Do your students have to "write to persuade"? Maybe they could try to persuade their global. If you need to cover graphing or using spreadsheets in your curriculum: Make your students tabulate the career choices of the students in their classroom, they can also ask the students in their virtual classroom. Make them identified girls and boys. With these numbers they can make graphs. Make graphs using a computer program. Pie, Bar, Line charts, what type of graphic shows their results better?
