Translation of Marisa Lucena's Telemar prize's acceptance speech by Valmir Azevedo, Brazil :

Thank you Telemar for granting the award to university projects concerned with the digital divide, and for recognizing the work developed by KHouse/Kidlink Project.

My special thanks to my team at PUC-Rio's Piloto KHouse, from where we coordinate national and international communities of the project. They are devoted and idealist people: Miriam Lerner, co-author of the project, Lucia, Kiki, Alice, Maria Paula, Ana Teresa, Bianca, Simone, Vania, Thaís, Fernanda, Claudinha, Valmir.

The KHouse Project would not have been a national and international reality without the leadership of volunteer, regional professionals such as: Dulce Brito, Mauro Pequeno, Herminio, Herbert, in Ceará, Sanmya Tajra, in São José dos Campos.

I also thank professors Washington Braga and José Oliveira for believing in us and supporting the Model KHouse activities in the laboratories of RDC, at the Catholic University. My thanks to the Catholic University for making the project part of its social actions, to Fundação Pe. Leonel Franca and to those who helped the dream come true, which lasts a decade. Thank you Odd, mentor of Kidlink, and Kidlink Family for all the support and motivation.

My dearest thanks to my husband, who introduced me to the world of technology and who moves me with his concerns with a contemporary, egalitarian and righteous Brazil.

Thank you God!

It is pertinent to remember the first slogan for the project, which was created in 1994 but is still valid: "KHouse Project: the Internet in the streets democratizing Education."
