What are my Rights?

Working children

Activities - 1st. Session

We will begin this session with a talk introducing the children to what is a "Right" , what rights do we have and what is the meaning of having respect for the rights of others. What are the things that every child should have?

  1. Separate class in small groups. Each group make a drawing of a child on a big paper. Give a name to your new child.
  2. What special qualities do you want that person to have when he/she grows up? Write those qualities in a circle around the figure. You could add qualities like health, good education and happiness.
  3. Make drawings of these qualities and paste them around the child inside the circle. You could use pictures cut from magazines or newspapers to show the qualities.
  4. Inside the figure of the child write the rights the child will need in order to grow into the adult you have described. You will need proper food and education. What else? Return to the Act of Rights and see what rights are necessary to fill the needs that your imaginary child would need during childhood.
  5. Write the number the right have in the Act near the good qualities that you have added to your list.
  6. Groups introduce their child to the rest of the class and explain qualities and necessities of each of their lists.

 

Materials needed: Graph Paper, thick markers, masking tape.

 

Activities- 2nd. Session

 

  • Find in the net something about the righted of the children.
  • Make a list of the rights that are less respected and what we should firmly do so it does not happen again

 

Activities- 3rd Session

 

  • Search the net for stadistic numbers about the infraction of the rights of the children, Search Internet about statistics of infractions to children rights. Make comparative chart, add,substract, divide and multiply results

THE RIGHT TO BE ME

 

Activities - 1st. Session

 

 

  • We start this sesson with a talk about the importance of being unique.
  • Each child should have a piece of paper attached to the back, on his turn each kid should write 2 qualities on the back of a classmate.

 

Activities- 2nd. Session

 

·        We start with a talk about the theme

·        In this session you should create your own Shield of Arms using the following :

-Proper sign

-Favorite Animal

-3 Important Arms (Three gif you have)

-a view you like.

SPECIAL NEEDS

 

Activities - 1st. Session

 

 

  • We will start this session with a talk about the differences in people
  • Make pairs that will have to do this:

-with eyes closed they will have to exchange their chompas

-Without talking, they have to tell certain  story (red riding hood, snow white, etc.

-With eyes close they have to write a message and pint a drawing.

 

Activities- 2nd. Session

 

  • Answer the following questions:

- What can I learn from persons with special needs?

-  What can I do for them?

-  What my reaction would be if I were them?

 

 

  • Share opinions by email with children from other schools.

Activities - 1st. Session

We will start this session with a talk about the Right to be Heard.

-Write letters about my rights and your rights to  the following persons:

-Teachers, Educators, persons near you.

 

Activities- 2nd. Session

 

  • Make a Poster where you could show: "I have many Rights and adults need to know it."
