09:15 "The Bridge"

Let us build a bridge over language and cultural barriers. So that the term racism gradually will become a historical phenomena.
Let us help our kids to better knowledge about themselves, their place, their rights, friends and families, and roots. To provide them more strength to survive in an increasingly open world. To learn about new neighbors.
Let us help them communicate across language and cultural frontiers. By using the multilingual educational program
Who-Am-I? as an agenda. Click here for more about THE BRIDGE. Odd is Kidlink's Executive Director and founder.

16:15 "Internet na Escola: Chatting in Portuguese Schools"

The Programa Internet na Escola is a national initiative led by the Portuguese Ministry of Science and Technology, within the Information Society framework. From 1997, all 5th to 12th grade schools have been connected to the Internet with ongoing connection of all primaries till the end of 2001. The programme aims at stimulating students and teachers to use Internet for educational purposes, through both presential and distance support - a web site is central on this approach. Since this network includes both universities, primary and secondary schools, it forsters communication between the scientific community and schools. Various telematic activities have been carried out to take advantage of this opportunity, on an integrated tools approach whenever necessary and justifiable. Some of these activities will be presented, particularly those that use IRC for student communication between schools
