Educational Earthquakes

Conference

Where Key Kidlink Educators Meet Practitioners to Uncover the Impact of Increasing Internet Use in Classrooms and Share Key Experiences.

The implications of a networked world for Education exceed our ability to plan and prepare. What will be the effect of pervasive instant data access and massively expanded projective capabilities on the way we teach? How can we prepare for changing infrastructure needs that might occur as a result of increased telecommuting, videoconferencing and online access?

How will increased international contacts strain existing educational systems? What will the public accept and what will provoke resistance as the power and capabilities of the wired classroom increase?

How will our training methods change in the Educational Earthquakes at the turn of the century? What will happen to the quality of education? What happens to the traditional classroom setting?

Kidlink does not have the answer to all these questions, but for years its members have exploited networking to develop new ways of teaching youth. By sharing our experiences, we hope that seminar participants will gain a foothold to securely plan amid the shifting ground surrounding us all.

The "Kidlink - Global Networking for Kids" provides the power of practical classroom experiences, contacts with key Kidlink leaders, and differing viewpoints on the risks and opportunities of our networked future.
