Hello friends of Kidlink!

Today, we start the eight-month "Who-Am-I?" program. While tailored for European teachers, teachers living elsewhere are also invited to participate.

The program will continue through April next year, and is built around the  following modules:

September - October, 1998

   "Who am I?"

   "Where do I live?"

November - December, 1998

"What are my rights?" (From October 24)

  "My friends and family"

January - February, 1999

  "What are my roots?"

March - April, 1999

  "Virtual Vacation"

Each module contains a number of lessons for students, each with a set of  Discussion Questions and suggested classroom Activities.

The Who-Am-I?" program has been built on the best experiences that Kidlink   have harvested in classrooms over its eight years of existence. It has been realized thanks to generous financial support from organizations such as The National Center for Educational Resources (Norway), The Danish Ministry of Education's Department of Primary and Lower Secondary Education (Denmark), The Swedish National Agency for Education, Microsoft, and others.

Some of Kidlink's most qualified online educators have been hard at work since early spring to put all the bricks together.

Information about the program's contents and how to participate is given at the program's home page on the World Wide Web:

http://www.kidlink.org/kie/nls/teacher.html

Start-up will be slow, so that those who want to join will have time to  find their way, and subscribe to the appropriate mailing lists. Also, the program has been designed so that you can join later, or just participate in selected modules.

Right now, most lesson plans are in English, but rest assured that translators are hard at work.  You desired language area's coordinator (http://www.kidlink.org/kie/nls/welcome.html#lists) will be able to inform you about their progress.

Enjoy!
