|
Hi Everybody! We have a homeschool consisting of myself, Mary --the teacher, and my son, Francesco --the student. This is our first time participating with KIDLINK so we hope to participate correctly. We are excited about the opportunity. We live in Suffolk, Virginia, USA and enjoy educating ourselves all year around. My son, who is nine years old has a few words he would like to say. Hello. My name is Francesco. I enjoy playing games on the computer. I also enjoy playing games on Sega and Playstation. I'm a very good reader, but a slow reader. I'm working on my ham radio license. I'm also diving. I like diving more than swimming. Please contact me if you have anything to say to me. It was nice talking to you all. Hope you enjoy yourselves. Goodbye for now from our homeschool, Mary and Francesco.
Hello everyone, My name is Morrigan and I am seven years old. I live in Armadale, Western Australia and I am in year 2 at Gwynne Park Primary School. I like playing nintendo, reading, playing with my little sister Rhiannon and talking on the internet. I chat in #kidlink every weekend. My Mum has helped me make a homepage. You can talk to me if you like because I like meeting new friends. Bye for now, Morrigan. Hi Morrigan and all, It is great to hear from you! I like meeting new friends also. I was a teacher for kids ages 3 years to 14 years until last year. Now, I work at a different university. My job is to help teachers learn ways to use the Internet in their classrooms. I worked with over 100 different teachers last year. In Kidlink, I also work with teachers and kids. I hope I am helping them use the Kidink resources in a good way. I do enjoy it here. I live in Deerfield, a town about 20 miles north of Chicago, IL, USA. I have 2 young adults. One is now 20 and the other is 17. The 20 year old, Bev, was a Kidlink member for a long time. I have 5 cats, 2 dogs and one horse in my yard. The horse is 36 inches tall. Young children can ride it and it can pull a cart. I hope to hear from more of you now! BonnieT Hi everybody! * Our birth of the Earth Club * This year I made a plan to make my Internet Class, called The Earth Club in this community. I had an anouncement about my Club. "Will you open your home page and make your friends all over the world? " I had 60 proposals from kids in this prefecture. I tried to look for a computer room for our activites but my efforts proved fruitless. Any schools and computer centers did not open a door for us. Fortunately I found a small room in a community hall. But there are no machines and lines here except desks, chairs and AC-100V. I bought a used computer, a display and a digital camera for my plan. I have to select 20/60 kids as my members by drawing lots because of the small room. This is a birth of The Earth Club. Our Club activities are ready to start! I am waiting for June 26.......it will be our first nice meet. I have my volunnteer activities twice in a mounth. I am very interested in the 'Who am I' program and we want to be your friends here!
(Excuse me! I sometimes mistype and mix Japanese on my mail. They will change the forms.)I have to write down a little about my roots of this program. I have on line to Internet since 1993. Mr. Shimazai is my friend on PC-VAN. It was a room on a tell-communication network. He tought me how to access to Internet. It was a wonderful world. I fell in love of this media and I had activities on Internet. in my school. I worked for 2 years on Kidlink IRC. Then I found an interesting media C2D. I became a student of Bonnie. And I am learning how to use this wonderful media for education. She introduced me to this program. I was interested in it.
Now I am making my schedule of our activities. I have to show my kids what a wonderful media Internet is ! What a wonderful program 'Who am I is' ! I want to show them Virtual Vacation. And made a test running program. Summer Virtual Vacation in Japan ! Bonnie helped me. Will you join our trip ? It is a trip where we are from and look for our culture roots. We will invite you to a special tour on Japanese history, visiting Relics in our town, of interest from the historical and cultural point of view. This is a test running program. Welcome all people.....kid, teacher, parents, youth and, adult, We will co-edit HTML with you. I hope you vist C2D. You will find our first program Virtual Vacation from Japan
Thank you, My name is Sara. I'm a computer teacher at Belgrano Day School, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Pretty soon I'll be retiring, but there are others who will carry the torch after me. We discovered Kidlink this year, and since we had thought that it is very important for the children to work with others from different countries, we immediately decided to join KIDWAILA. We have already prepared module one and the children have enjoyed it greatly! Module two is even more challenging and more fun, and we'll start with it next week. I'm afraid we're two weeks behind, and we don't know whether we'll be able to catch up. Is it very important to finish with all the rest?
Love, Hello!! My name is Agustina. I am a 6th grade pupil at Belgrano Day School, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm eleven years old. My favourite music is pop and my favourite singer is Shakira. Good by. I want to hear from someone
soon, I am María de los Ángeles. I'm a 6th grade pupil at the Belgrano Day School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My name means : " in communication with Jesus' mother ". María is a very popular name in my family and it was chosen by my parents. I am 11 years old and I like playing hockey with my friends and helping my sister with her homework, but I hate doing my homework on the weekend, because I could be plying games with my sister, watching T.V. or taking a rest.
I'll write back soon.Bye. I am a 6th grade pupil at the Belgrano Day School, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The most popular name in my family is José because my grandpa, my father and my brother carry it. My name is Ezequiel D. and if I could change it I'd choose John. Ezequiel means God's power. I think it's important to call a person by his name and pronounce it correctly because, if not, he will get upset. I have a German Shepherd called Max. It means "the biggest". I selected it because it was a nice name for an animal. I like Heavy Metal because it is very loud. I like Gene Simmons because he sings very well. I think the name of a singer is not important; what is important is how he sings. My favourite group is Kiss. If I could change its name I'd call it THE TONGUE because a guy can touch his chin with his tongue. My parents chose my name because it was a good name for a boy. I am the first one in my family that has it. I have a funny story: once on a farm a dog had my same name and every time they called him I thought they were calling me. I think my parents are happy about my name. Good-Bye!!!!!!!! I hope to hear from you soon. My name is Ezequiel T. Ezequiel means God's power. I wouldn't like to change my name because I like it. I don't like them because I think they are ugly. Another of the things I don't like is music like Tangos or things like that. They are boring and you can't move very much because I forgot to tell you that I like the music that makes you move a lot, like as I say at the beginning pop music and others. Love from Martin Hi! My name is Florencia.I live in Buenos Aires Argentina. I'm in 6 grade at Belgrano Day School a bilingual school in Buenos Aires Federal Capital Argentina. My mother liked the name Nicolás because my father did too. My name has an interesting story, this is. "St Nicholas was a bishop in the 4th Rome century. The legend says that he saved the sons of a poor man. Now he is accepted as the patron of children, merchants, sailors, Greece and Russia."

I've got a younger brother named Julian, a mother named Gabriela, a father named Gerardo and a cat named Pepe. The most popular name in my family is María because four of my female cousins are called like this. Both my parents chose my name. I like my name but if I could choose another one it would be Marcos. GOOD BYEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to hear from you soon. Hello! I am a 6th grade pupil at Belgrano Day School, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I don't have a pet. I think you can give your pet the name that you like. My favourite music is Rock'n Roll because I like it. My favourite pop singer is Mick Jagger, but my favourite group is SODA STEREO. If I was the manager of the band I would change the name to Water Stereo. In my country our music is FOLKLORE. GOOD BYE!!!!!!!! I hope to hear from you soon. My name is Santiago P. and it means going into battle. My mother chose it because she liked it. The most popular name in my family is Alfredo. I think it's because it has a long history and because a lot of my relatives have it. Names can tell important things about people. I have a pet, it's name is Peter and it's a dog. I think there aren't special names for every animal. My favourite music group is Kiss, because I like Heavy-Metal. If I were the group manager of Kiss, I wouldn't change anything in the group. I go to Belgrano Day School. I'm in sixth grade. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I hope to hear from you soon. Hello!I'm Estefanía C. and I am very pleased to be in touch with you. I'm a 6th grader at Belgrano Day School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I want to tell you that the most popular name in my family is Antonio, because my father and my brother are also Antonios. We don't have any a popular name for a girl. I think thet the most popular names in my school are María and Juan just like in my country, Argentina. The most popular name for boys are Juan, Santiago and Sebastian, and for girls, María, Lucía and Florencia. If I could choose my name I wouldn't change it because I like my name the way it is. I don't know the meaning of my name or the meaning of the other names of my family. I believe it is important to call a person by his name and pronounce it correctly. The name of a person can tell us something about his or her nationality, origin and culture. In our country we give the same surname to the children of a married couple. The children receive the surname of their father. In my family every one has the same surname, C, except my mother, whose surname is Krykorka de C. I don't have a pet, but if I could have a dog I would call it "Milagro". It means miracle in English. I would call it like that because it would be a miracle if I could have a pet. I don't think there are special names for different animals. Pop music is my favourite music, because it has good rhythm for dancing. I like Bob Marley from Jamaica. His type of music is called reggae. My favourite pop singer is Shakira, because I like what she sings. My favourite group is Rolling Stones. I think the name was well chosen, because it is attractive. If I were the group's manager I would name it "tounge out" because their symbol is a tongue sticking out. My mother gave me my name because she always liked Estefanía. My father gave my brother his name; that's why my mother chose mine. No relative of mine has my name. My name hasn't got history or an interesting story. My parents like the name. My hobbies are playng hockey and punching my brother(not so hard). I like travelling, going out with my friends and reading. Hope to hear from you soon. Bye-Bye Hi! I'm very happy to be in touch with you. I'm Lucia Ines and I am 11 years old. I was born on 18/6/88. I am a sixth grade pupil at Belgrano Day School, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I like dancing, singing, and listening to music. I don't like to watch T.V programmes all day but I like it anyway. The most popular name in my family is Ines. I think it is so because my Mum and I carry it. The most popular names in my school and in my country are Santiago, Sebastian and Juan for boys, and for girls, Maria, Florencia, Carla and Agustina. I like my name because it's very nice. My name's meaning is "Light". I don't know if my family's surname has a meaning. I think that it is very important to call a person by his/her name and pronounce it correctly because a person's name is an identity. I can see how names can tell us the nationality or history of a person. In our country we use the father's surname for the family members. I have a lovely pet called Papo. I don't know if "Papo" has a meaning. I didn't select the name. When we bought him, he had that name. I don't think there are special names for different animals. My favourite music is pop music. My favourite pop singers are Chayanne, Shakira and Alejandro Sanz. I like them because I like their music.I don't think that their names have anything to do with their fame. I don't have a favourite musical group. All my favourite pop singers are soloists. If I could have a musical group, the name I'd give it would depend on the music and on the group. The names that were used when my grandmother was a child were: Maria Elena, Gladys, Herminia, Juana, Emilia and Nelida. My name was decided by my Mum and my Dad. They called me Lucia because there's a song of Juan Manuel Serrat called like that and they liked it very much.
