Our Thoughts on "Rights"

Daniela Corradi, Italy We have spoken about the most important rights for young people...
the right of telling what you think
the right of being educated and studying
the right of speaking and being listened to
the right of playing and practicing sports
the right of satisfying own necessities
the right of being healed and being in good health
the right of having a home
the right of having a family
the right of having friends
the right of loving and being respected
the right of being dressed up
the right of using public services
the right of getting information
the right of having a good time and being (at ease) happy.

Valentina calcerano, Italy
I think I have the rights to be loved, to grow up with a family, to play and talk with friends.
Sometimens adults don't respect the children's rights: for example when they oblige them to work, instead of going to school.
The right I prefer is playing with my friends and my family.
In my opinion a right is something which is due to every people living in a democratic society.

Dear friends,
Sometimes I can't express my opinion because my parents think that I can't take a decision about some problems: for example about work, furniture of the flat, when to go out. When that happens I feel useless. But in other circumstances I can express my opinion (about holidays, TV programmes, sport and activities to practice in my free time). In my room I spend a few time because my house is very big and I prefer staying in the basement where there are some of my favourite pastimes: TV, books, Play Station, keyboard and posters and one bathroom . There I can stick my posters because it is my place, and I tidy it: I wash the floor once a week and I dust.
Luca

DEAR SANDRA (Norway)
I read your message about rights and I want tell you what I think. I think that boys and girls of my age usually have lots of rights at home. For example, in my family I can decide about a lot of things: I decide about sports or activities to do in my spare time, I chose the music to listen to, I can express my opinion when we have to decide where to spend our holidays. In my room I can stick some poster on one wall. But sometimes I think adults cannot involve young people in taking decisions. Once I wanted to express my opinion about our moving to another flat, but of course my parents didn't listen to it. The rights at home is a lot and I can do only some example.
Alessandro

Hi friends
I think that boys of my age have many rights at home: for example, listening music, playing videogames, playing guitar and watching television. I believe never happened that someone prevented me in telling my opinion. I have enough freedom to tell my opinion at home and my parents are happy of that if I behave well. I can use my leisure time as I want, but I don't have to annoy other persons. I have permission to stick poster to the wall of my bedroom, playing guitar and listening music, but I don't have permission to play ball in living room.
Bye Bye
Andrea

Hello friends,
The boys of my age have some rights at home. Once I had to go on holidays with my uncle, but my parents didn't approve. So I couldn't go. I was angry and sad. In my home I usually can express my opinion. I can decide about my sports. I can't keep my room-untide. I think that adults don't accept boys decisions, because believe that boys believe that boys do understand nothing.
Bye, Bye
Emanuele

How can I be heard ?
I think that boys and girls have some rights in their families. I sometimes would like to decide where to go on holiday, but my parents usually prefer to decide by themselves. I'm free to express my opinion in the house: I can decide about how to spend my free time, but in my room I can stick posters on the wall , play the flute, listen to music, play.
Bye Matteo

I think that the children must decide where to go on holiday. Once I must decide where to go on holiday with my parents but I can't get permission. I can decide about how to spend my free time, for example now play football. In my room I can stick poster on the wall, listen to music.
BYE VINCENZO

Hello friends,
I'm Manuela. In my home I have some rights; for example I have the right to say what I think. Once it happened I wanted to speak about a topic of conversation but my parents didn't allow me.I'm free to choose about my free time. In fact I can play, listen to pop music, play the guitar, read. I haven't a room on my own because I share it with my sister Stefania. She likes candles so our room is full of candles. I can attach the poster but I can't keep my room in disorder. In my opinion, adults don't ask the opinion of girls and boys, because we are too young to take important decisions.
Bye bye Manuela

Hello friends,
My name is Elisa , I think the boys and girls have some rights . In my home I can express my opinion . I'm free about my free time . In my house I can play the flute . In my room I can listen to rock music and I can dance ; I can't attach the poster and play football.
Bye bye ELISA

Hello friends.
I think that the boys of my age have some rights in their families. Once I wanted to go to Sicily for a weekend but my parents didn't want. I'm free to say my opinions, but sometimes I can't do what I want: for example I can't play the flute. I can decide how to spend my free time and which activities to do. I play football with my friends, I listen to music. I can't leave my room in disorder, I can't sing, I can't attach my poster. In my opinion the adults don't ask the opinion about boys and girls, because we are too young.
Bye bye Mario

Hello friends my name is Valentina!! I think to be heard you need respect. Boys and girl have rights much exact the home. Once I wanted to say my opinions but my parents didn't wanted. I can learn and listen to music, watch TV, do my homework, play and speak with my friends. In my bedroom. I can't stick poster and have my bedroom in disorder.
Bye, Bye Valentina

Hi! My name is Melania. I think that the boys and girls of my age have many rights in the home. The rights in my house of the Children aren't always respected. In my bedroom I can't stick Poster. In my bedroom I can watch TV, Play with my friends.
Bye bye Melania

I think, the people accept my opinions. I respect other people's opinions and my friend respect my opinions. The companions "enemy" is not much. The children adopted is equal to me and the difference is little.
Bye Andrea

I think my companions accept my opionions. There are many companions my enemy is not much. According to me, the children that do not live with the family of origin are not different even if they were adopted.
Bye Davide

Dear friends
The people in general accept me as I am (in fact my real friends are not many). At school my companions are often nice and kind with me. In my class there are many boys and girls which I don't like. For instance I can't stand people who make me nervous.
Bye Valentina and Roberto!

I think that the people accept me for what I am. In my opinion in a classroom there are boys and girls that must have a better behaviour. I mean they should try to respect the others but they don't do that.
Bye Stefano

We think we are accepted for that we are. In our classroom there are many chums that we don't like. On our mind, the family life of a person who is adopted isn't different from other people.
GABRIELE E FRANCESCA

I think all people have the right to be accepted for what they are. But some students make fun of others only because they don't like them. I think you must keep in your mind that if you want to have the right to be what you really are, you have to accept others' rights as well.
Valeria

In my opinion my friends, my family and my class accept me for what I am. They respect me and don't make fun of me; surely sometimes it happens but we do it only for fun . I have friends that I find a little bit unpleasant but anyway I stay with them because we get on well all together. Not all children live in their own family. Some children in fact have been adopted. I think that for them life is not so happy and peaceful as mine. I would like that all children have a thankful life.
Daniela e Davide

My parents establish what it is right for me. Some times they choose what I can watch on TV If a film is good for me or not , what time I must come back home. In my home my mother cooks and I always have lunch or dinner ready when I go home.
Bye bye Maria

Hello! I'm Silvia and I'm twelve year old. My opinion on the rights: I think that boys and girls of my age have many rights at home but they aren't always respected. For example when somebody doesn't give me the possibility to express my opinion, I feel very bad and not very important. In my family I don't always have the permission to do what I want. I can decide how to spend my time free: sport, television, play, but I can't leave my bedroom in disorder. I can listen the music in my bedroom. However sometimes adults don't listen to the opinions of boys and girls because they think they can't understand and this not is fair!!
Bye Bye Silvia

In my opinion it is right that the parents decide about the time of our coming back home. When it is fair and warm, in spring or summer, for example, we can stay out longer in the evening, because it gets dark later. Parents also decide the film to see and the time to go to bed. Parents know what we can see, if a film is good or not, if it is too violent or coarse, if the plot is interesting or not. They decide for us because they want to protect us from dangers of every kind. As far as our health is concerned, in our country there are some compulsory vaccination. Also a good diet is very important to grow well.
Bye Matteo

Hi friends!
In summer, teenagers can go out because the weather is sunny and hot and it gets dark later. They are more relaxed and less worried. In summer the boys and girls stay a lot outside until seven o'clock p.m. Another right thing: the parents are right when they want us to come back at a certain time because there are a lot dangers! Parents don't allow us to watch some movies or television programs. I can watch some movies: comic or normal but I cannot watch horror movies or too violent ones. For our security it is also important the vaccination. These help us to prevent some illnesses. In our house everybody decides what to eat: but in my opinion it is important to have the right diet to grow up healthy.
ALESSANDRO

Hello friends!
My name is Valentina. I think it is right that parents must decide about the time we have to be back home, otherwise they could worry because our world is a bit dangerous for young people. I decide the TV programs that I see. The vaccination is a right because we can get some illness. The right diet is very important because with it we can to grow well.
Bye, Bye Valentina

Hi friends!
I'm Manuela. In my family, my parents decide when I must go home. In my opinion they decide this because they are anxious and sometimes my parents, decide when I eat. The films I look at talk about adventure, love, etc. I choose them whit my parents. In my country some vaccinations are obligatory and others are not. For example the measles vaccination is obligatory. Some girl are diseased of bulimia or anorexia.
Manuela

Dear friends,
My name is Elisa, I decide the television programs that I see. My parents did see the horror film. My parents decide meals and my brother, my mum and I cook. The vaccination is very important and obligatory to grow well. The right diet is problem for the girls and boys and above all the girls.
BYE BYE Elisa

HOW CAN I BE SAFE?:
I'm Sara. In my family my father and mother decide everything for me, because they are anxious. Sometimes, for example, my parents decide what I must eat, they decide the films I can watch because they are afraid I can choose horror films, or too violent ones. There is another way to protect young people and their growth: in my country some vaccinations are compulsory and some are facultative: our parents can decide whether to do them or not. I think it is a good thing for our health.
Goodbye Sara

HOW CAN I BE SAFE?:
My parents when I go out tell me what time to come back. This is different in summer and in winter, because in summer for example I can stay out till later. I can watch TV, but my parents don't allow me to watch it too long. Sometimes I can't watch a film because it is too violent or coarse.

Our Thoughts on "Special Rights"

The disabled can do things very much: write, read and learn. Between sight and hearing don't have knowledge to chose, but sight is very important. For leaf is existing alphabet. The different sight of birth is not. For me the disabled children are studying as normal children.
By Andrea

I think the disabled must be inserted at normal class with others students because the disabled possess feelings and sensations. Exist a language that is universal through the Deans.
By Davide

We think the disable can do the same thing as the other boys. For me deaf can speak us with the language manual, or in writing what is said. We think the disable children must stay in a different class, where they can learn better.
VALENTINA E ROBERTO

Disabled can study, play, enjoy like normal people. On my mind the difference between to be blind from birth and becoming later in the life is that who become blind late can have a prospect of world because he saw it before, instead of one who is blind from birth I think that disabled don't need special classes, but must be inserted in the normal classes with other students.
Gabriele e Francesca

The disable children have the same rights as all others. In fact they have the right to have a family and an education and the right to play . Many of them are not able to communicate with words because they are deaf-dumb; therefore, they use an alphabet created for them based on manual gestures. There are some children who have problems of deafness and blindness since their birth. There are some people that are forced on a wheelchair.. In my opinion the disabled children have the right of studying in a normal classroom compatible to their ability.
Stefano e Ilenia

Disabled people can work because there are some special positions for them. They can drive special cars and they have reserved parking areas. They can also go in for agonistic sport. I think that being blind is really terrible because a person is not completely self- sufficient and cannot see the world around him. Deaf people can have a universal language called Braille language which makes name from the inventor.
Daniela e Davide

The handicap children can play, write, speak and read. For the children a universal deaf- and- dumb language exists. The people don't know light and colours, but if you help them, they can try to understand what they are.
VALERIA E ANDRE

Disabled people can do many activities as to play musical instruments, to practice sports, to use the computer, to go to school learning many things . I think it is better, if you are deaf or blind you must learn a special alphabet to communicate. In my opinion they must go to special schools suitable for them where they can also practice sports and enter for Olympic games.
