Hi Everyone and Epi & Patti,

My name is Leah Giselle Collins Lipsett. We looked in a name book for the meanings. My first name, Leah, means "weary one". I don't like that meaning, but I like my name. My parents named me Leah because I had a great uncle named Elliott. He was called Elli, and that's sort of Leah turned around. If I was a boy I would have been named Elias. My middle name, Giselle, means "a girl held hostage". Maybe I'm weary of being held hostage to my school work! But they really named me Giselle because I had a great grandmother named Gisela. In my family's culture you are named after relatives who have died. My last name, Collins Lipsett, is my mama's and papa's last names put together. Most people in Canada it seems have their father's last name only. I like having both names! A lot of people put a hyphen ("-") between Collins and Lipsett, which is very annoying for me.
