Hi Mary and all the rest!
Thanks so much for meeting us at the airport Mary, and we really enjoyed the Welcome party at your house. We arrived at Salisbury airport at 2.00 p.m. the 5. of May. Mary was there to meet us, and we went straight to the car rentals to pick up our bus. Then we checked in at the Travelers Motel on Ocean Highway in Delmar. With Mary as a guide we went to the "All - You - Can -Eat Seafood restaurant. Some of us had Red Roast Chicken:8.95$ Others: Grilled hicken breast: 9.95$. That we could afford. The food was heavenly, but we got very sleepy. Remeber Norwegian time is 6 hours ahead of yours so 4 p.m. local time is 10 p.m. Norwegian time. No wonder that we were sleepy! After the meal we went to Salisbury zoo. That was a funny experience: lamas, alligators, bobcats, rabbits, owls., parrots and even a spider monkey! The Welcome party at Mary's at night was fun. We really got the opportunity to practice the English - fun, but difficult to understand everything. So back to the motel and a good night sleep. At 9 O'clock the next morning we went for breakfast: local food: eggs and bacon, pancakes and syrup. We ar e not at all used to this combination, but it was not bad - quite good in fact! Now it was time to visit Delmar school. Fun hearing about all your projects and the global classroom activities. We are quite impressed. We are going to visit you on the Internet later, because the visit was rather short. Thanks for showing us around! Now, off to the beach in Ocean city. Wonderful! The water was rather cold even for Norwegians so we did not swim a lot, but we enjoyed the sun and walked on the boardwalk - did some shopping: tank-tops among other things, But we could not stay all day ... We had to visit the science museum, but we had bad luck. It was closed, but we got some information about a special event about exploring the human senses Saturday, May, 8. A pity that we missed it. We had to leave on Friday. So we went to Rehoboth Beach to buy some plush bears instead of. They were quite expensive 150$ dollars. But there were killer whales, dophins and leopards there as well from 12$. Then we returned to the motel. It was time for writing some post cards. We went early to bed that evening. The 3. day: time for leaving. After breakfast we went straight to the aquvarium. It was fun. However, we had to bring some gifts home so it was time to go to the big mall with Mary as our guide . We spent the rest of the money buying sweets and souvenirs. At 6 p.m. our plane took off from Salisbury airport. We had a lovely stay in Delmar! Thanks to all! We'll miss you!
Look at the nice post card we bought in Delmar!
