Dear all!!

My name is Ane and I live in Copenhagen, Denmark. I will like to tellyou about my vacation in Toscana, Italy. Itīs the best vacation Iīve ever had, and Italy have becomed my favorite country. We lived two weeks in a little fishing-village named Castiglioni della Pescaia (it means something with a castle and fishing) We lived on a nice hotel by the sea (Riva del Sole), so we spend alot of time on the beach, bathing and sunbathing.

Almost every day we held `Siestaī (in Italy they take a break in the middle of the day, called Siesta - it means break in italian - inside of cause, because itīs so hot outside). We spend the time sleeping eating playing or reading. We ate a lot of food. I love the italian food-style, itīs so relaxed. The fruits are much better in Italy, more fresh, and a lot cheeper. Watermelon, melon

Copenhagen.

Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and the population is about 1 million people. Copenhagen is a nice city with many sights, old building, culture and music.

Sights:

The Cathedral is a newclassic church made by the arcitect C. F. Hansen.

Christiansborg:

The old castle is not so old. The castle we have today is the third castle. The ruines from the first castle you can see in the cellar. The seccond castle burned in 1887. We have only the old church and the two wings, from the seccond. The third castle was built from 1908-1925. The Little Mermaid is the trademark of Copenhagen. She is small, the same size as a normal woman.

Copenhagen has a lot of museums with famous sculptures and pictures. There are lots of music activities, both classic, jazz and rock. Copenhagen has a jazzfestival in the summer, and there are lots of concertplaces, with classic music, and a lots of discoteks.

Two years ago I was in Hong Kong with the Copenhagen Boys Choir. We sang at a big concert. There were many people. After the concert we wnt to a funfair, that was a lot of fun! Therewas a big waterworld; we were there for 3-4 hours. When we came home to our questfamilies, I fell asleep immidiately. After a while I had to get up and got some delicious dinner and wnet for a ride in the "father's" car: a grey Ferrari Testarossa. It was a great car. A few days later we had to go home to Copenhagen again. It was a very good trip.

Turkey

I was with my family in Turkey two years ago. We left Copenhagen Airport about 9a.m., the 1st of May, and we arrived at Antalya airport 2 p.m. the same day in Turkey. A bus picked us up and we drove to our hotel. It was a little one star hotel on the outskirts of the town, called Side. 5000 people live in Side and there are nearly the same number of restaurants, souvenir shops and bars. We checked in at our hotel and went to bed. The next day we took a local bus to a nearby city, which name I can't remember. There was a huge market and fair. After a week we found a little travel agency in the town. They offered us a trip to Pamukkale 300 kilometres from Antalya. A "mountain" 500 meters tall and covered with terraced limestone formations. The terraces were filled with 35 degrees warm water. And a swimming pool too. That's life. Here's a picture from Pamukkale.

On the way home to Side we visited a little village with a big waterfall. I have a picture of this too and you can see a little man swimming around under it.

We came back to the bus and drove home to Side again. The next couple of days passed fast. Once when we went to the beach we met a man we called "Popeye". He made the best spaghetti in the world. Here's a picture of him.

Saturday came and it was time to go home to Copenhagen. We packed our stuff and took a taxi to Antalya airport. That was the most tragic seconds of my life. Now we all should back to school. We came to Copenhagen 2 o'clock in the morning, and went to bed. in the night I dreamed about all the experiences I have had in Turkey.

MY TRIP TO OSLO IN NORWAY

My name is Thomas and now I will tell you about my trip to Oslo in Norway. It was a hot summerday. My family and I was on our way to the ship, Queen of Scandinavia, which should bring us to Norway. ( It was during the Soccer World Championship 98ī) We got off the busand started walking towards to the ship. It was a big ship. And it was larger than I thought. Then after a little while we got on board. We found our cabin. We left our things in the cabin, locked the door and walked up to one of the decks. It was a nice weather. Then we started to relax with a sunbathe. My littlebrother and I walked around the ship. We found one of the cinemas, and in there they showed soccer on a big screen. It was the game between Argentina and England. Inside the ship there was 3 cinemas, 10 restaurants, a swimmingpool and some stores. The trip to Oslo would take 16 hours. Before we got to Oslo, we had to stop in Helsinborg, there we took some more passengers.

16 HOURS LATER

Now we could see Oslo. We got off board. The goal for the trip was to see the Holmen Kollen. ( Holmen Kollen is a big skiresort. Its a very famous ski jump). We had to take the moutain train all the way up to Holmen Kollen. The tower was about 100 meters high, and there was only stairs to the top. So when we finally got to the top we were all a little bit tired. >From the tower we had a fantastic view, I could almost see the hole Norway. And I have taken some pictures of the view. When we had spent some hours there we were going to see the Kontikt Museum. To get to the museum we had to sail. Because the museum was on the other side of the firth. We took a little boat. The Kontiki Museum was very exiting to see. The Kontiki Museum is about the first and other expeditions over the Atlantic in rushboats. And after a few hours there, we took the back to the ship.

We were in Norway one day becaues it was a mini cruse I wiil recommend to go to Norway, because there is a lot of green areas and fresh air. There is a lot of things to look at. So everyone, to you who is going to Norway, have a nice trip and remember to see The Holmen Kollen.
