This is what we would put in our shoe box:

A photo of my family because I love my family, and a photo of my school. All this to keep these memories in my heart. Before I forget, my photo when I was a baby.
MARIBEL

My diary, a lot of compact discs, a teddy bear, a picture of my family, a pet and an electronic diary. My watch to know the time in my country.
MAGALI

My coin necklace (it gives me good luck), a laptop and a book about computing (I like computing), a chess game, a bag, air and a banjo.
MATIAS

My walkman, Game Boy and a chess game. My walkman because my father gave it to me. The chess game because it's my favourite table game and the Game Boy because it is my favourite video game.
MARTIN

My foot ball because when I kick it I score goals. A photo of my family and of my best friend in order not to forget them.
SEBASTIAN

A photo of a place that I went a long, long time ago because it reminds me of my childhood and my holidays.
ROCIO

My diary because I want to write what I see, a book, because I love reading, a walkman with a lot of cassettes because I love music, and also a photo of Michael Jackson, a photo of my family and a chess game because I like them.
ANABELLA

My diary because it is a present from a friend, my watch because my mother gave it to me and it is special for me.
PAMELA

Hello Maribel, Magali, Matias, Martin, Sebastian, Rocio, Anabella, and Pamela.

I really like your shoeboxes! A lot of you have put diaries in your boxes. Do you think we have a right to privacy? What do you say if someone tries to read your diary?

Some of you have also got things your parents gave you. We'll soon be talking about friends and families. Maybe you'd like to think about why something is special because it came from your mother or father.

When I was 8 I knitted a little brown teddy (about 10 cm high) and gave it to my father. A few years later he was very sick and the teddy went to the hospital with him to remind him of home. When I was 16 my father died and my mother gave me the teddy back. You can imagine, that little brown teddy is very special to me because it makes me think about my father.

Do any of you have stories about things that remind you of people in your family?

best wishes,
Liz
