If I Were In Charge of My School
by Jessica Flax I do not want to be in charge of my school because I would have to sit and wait for a call. Another reason why I do not want to be charge of my school is everybody would come to me and say What do I do to fix my eyes or other things! I do not want people coming up to me and asking me questions about what to do when I student is not behaving. The only change I will make is that the school needs to be bigger. We need a bigger cafeteria also a big gym in our school. I do not want to be in charge of the school because I would have to do all this stuff.
If I were In Charge of My School I think it is boring being in charge of the school. I would get a headache. All you do is just sit there and hear everyone complaining. I going to meetings and making discussions. I would give 300 conduct marks. For homework, I would make them read a lot of books. One good thing, I would do is lock the door and play computer games in my office and get a secretary. I would like that because the secretary does all of my work and I get the money. I would like that part, but the rest is boring.
If I Owned the School If I owned the School I would make some changes. For a kid I’d make the school fun. For a parent the school would be great. I’d try to help kids with problems too. That is only a part of what I’d do if I owned the school. My first thought would to thoroughly discipline my school. If there was a trouble maker, I would swiftly break his or her spirit. I would make school fun though. If someone couldn’t handle the fun they would get a mark. I would try to have a good disciplined school. School would be fun if you didn’t make trouble. School would be three days. The students would sleep at school. Friday would be pizza day. I would make some weeks just for reading. The students would get a book and read for the three days. School would be really fun for a kid. If I owned the school it would be the best school on the planet. I would be very expensive but fun. Kids with problems could be helped at the new school. It would be a good place to make friends. That is what I’d do if I owned the school.
Alan Nguyen If I was in charge of the school I would give every student a game day on Friday. I think that if I give everybody four recesses a day, they will give me a fun hour of study. Each student picks a language that they want to learn. The teachers will give each student one hour of computer time. To give that much recess they have to study a lot. I will give everybody Field Day in April. School starts at 9:30 a.m. and everyone leaves at 5:30 p.m. There is never any homework on Friday. When the teachers see anyone wasting their time, the teachers will tell you to keep going until you stop or you ran out of time. We give report cards to the parents when it is conference time. Also holidays will be sometimes long and sometimes short. Everybody will learn advanced subjects. Every year my school will add a grade level and a lot of the students will come in every year. Teachers would not be so strict on the students. They are not mean if you don’t do your homework. This will be all the changes that I will make if I was in charge of the school.
Courtney Reyes If I were in charge of the school, I would change two things. These two things might make school more enjoyable. Now, I will tell you more about these two things. The first change I would make is the time we go to school. To me it’s way to early. Some kids have to wake up at 6:00 a.m. So, the new time would be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Now, it is okay because you can sleep longer and not fall asleep or feel tired in class. You’ll be more awake and get better grades, so your parents would be happy. The second thing I would change is the days of school. There would be four days of school, Monday through Thursday. A three day weekend!! I love three day weekends. Parents sometimes let you have a friend over or take you someplace fun. Weekends are when you have games. Now, you don’t feel stuck all day at games because you have two more days to sleep. These are the two changes I would make if I were in charge of a school. I think other kids would enjoy these changes like I do.
Nick Sample Do you really want to know what I’d do if I were in charge of the school? I know that nobody likes school but I wouldn’t destroy it. I’ll tell you what I’d do to make it more fun. First, I’d teach first graders algebra and negative numbers. You’d learn calculus in fifth grade. It’s just not fair any other way. There’s more so keep reading. I’d also make school hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You would be counted tardy at 10:10 a.m., absent at 11:00 a.m. I’m not completely awake at 8:00 a.m. It’s not fair to start school at 8:00 a.m. That’s what I’d do if I were in charge of the school. I’m sorry I wouldn’t destroy it. The new changes would have more awake students having more fun at school.
Morgan Zamora Have you ever wondered what school would be like if you ran it? Well I did so I decided to write down the things I would change. So, here are my thoughts. My first thought would be to have an activity on everyday. For example Mondays Mixed Up Days and Tuesdays Twirl Day, Wednesday Wacky Food Day, Thursday Teach Your Pet Day, Fridays Fun Field Trip Day. I would also have 4 hours of school and 4 hours of recess. During recess we would play hide-n-seek inside the school or outside the school and we would play other fun games too. Well, those are my changes on what I would to if I were in charge of the school. I think that my changes will make school more enjoyable for kids.
Natalie Brumbaugh If I were in charge of the school I would change two things because I think kids should like school. So I changed two things that kidswould like. My first idea is to change the schedule. Example: Every Tuesday and Thursday is a field trip. There would only be four days of school a week. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the weekend days. There would be five hours of school each day. I would change the amount of recess time. Instead of 30 min., I would change it to 45 min. Of recess each day. I think kids would like that change because kids love to play instead of working. I would change those two things. I hope kids would like my changes and I hope parents would like it as well.
Anna Fischer Have you ever thought of being in charge of school? I’ve thought about it. If I were in charge of school, I would change three things. Those things are important. Read on to find out what I’d change. On of the three things is to change the field trip schedule. The older kids would go on more field trips than the younger kids. Why? Younger kids don’t really pay attention to anything they do. The next one would be is that every class would have nap time. Every class would have nap time because everyone gets tired. Finally, at the end of the year, the last day of school would be movie day. I think the kids would have earned it. The reason my thought are like this is because I think school should be fun. Kids should go to school and think its fun. So that’s how I’d run the school.
Hello to everyone at The Galloway School!
What a lot of good ideas you have!! More time for reading, more sports, a
later start, making school more fun. I think I'd have to agree with all ofthose!
I specially liked the idea of Friday as Pizza Day ;) Yumm! You could have a
special Pizza Day to celebrate the opening of the new, bigger cafeteria,
couldn't you.
Do you suppose our friends in Cavriago have a special pizza recipe that you
could use on Pizza Day?
Happy Holidays everyone, see you next year!!
