Dear Friends,

Hi! My name is Vanessa. I have lost a family member before. I lost my Uncle Paul to a young driver that wanted to play chicken. I felt very alone and empty on the inside. After he died I never let any one really know my thoughts. Not even my parents. I got through it by talking about him . I didn't say anything bad because there was not anything bad about him. I talk to my cousin Amber who's dad that was and she is the smart kid in the family so I went ot ask her about things and she made me feel better. If I talk over it it, makes me feel a lot better maybe you can try it. Well I have to go. Bye!

Your Keypal,
Vanessa DeBord

Vanessa,

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss in your family due to the reckless behavior of someone else. How wonderful that you and your cousin had a chance to talk together about this!

*hugs*

Dear Vanessa,

Thank you for sharing such a personal thing with us. It's good to be able to talk about our losses with a friend we can trust. Some people find it hard to talk though and they have to find other ways of expressing their feelings. Sometimes it can be nice to write a poem, even if you don't show it to anyone else.

best wishes,
Liz
