Students may announce their chat in KidSpace.
Also, they are invited to work
with us to give their invitation yet wider distribution. Step one: Create
a web-based invitation together using the
templates used for
Who-Am-I?
-
To be posted at least 3 days before the chat
at the kids' portal, and at least
5 days before at the portal for
teachers.
-
Include photos of the person(s) behind the
invitation, and links to their responses, preferably like we do at
"No more war!"
-
Add a piece of art or a photograph made
by your students as illustration! (Copyrighted images not
allowed.)
-
List the 2 - 3 key questions that the discussion
will be about. Fine-tune the phrases. As time runs fast in a chat, there
should not be more questions. Other questions will surface automatically.
-
Add quotes from peers about the issue to
be discussed, at least one by students of your class. They may
search the public registration database for more. In
total, it would be good to have them submit the 5 best quotes that they can
find, so that we have a choice. (examples at the
templates used for
Who-Am-I?)
-
Include suggestions about what other
students/indvidual kids may do to prepare for the chat
-
We will be putting up a form so that participants
may pre-register for the chat. Provide the email address of the student who
is to receive registrations.
-
Provide a suggested list of interesting background
reading, with links to such resources
-
Include other illustrations to make the invitation
shine
-
If possible, deliver as completed web page (in
.html)
