Storing The
English Language Page
On Your Disk

  1. Open FrontPage or Composer, and retrieve the English language page you want to translate (like overview.html).
  2. Save the page on your local disk, using the same file name as the source document. For example, save overview.html as overview.html
Select File | Save As, and save the page to your local work folder (on your PC). A "Save As" window opens. Click at "Change Title" and translate the title into your language. Click OK when done, and then at "Save" using the same "File name" as the original, and the default setting at "Save as type:".

A "Save Embedded Files" window will open. Click at "Set Action", mark off "Don't save this file, and leave the reference in the page as is", and "OK", and then "OK" again.

All links on the web page will now be correct (going to the English language pages, that is), and all links to embedded images will go to http://www.kidlink.org. The latter is easy to remove later when translation is completed. This will save you a lot of work!

  3. Translate by overwriting the English language text.
