Maintaining Your Translation |
| When the English language source page changes,
your translation must be updated. Links in your web page must be updated
when pages it links to get translated.
Free web services like ChangeDetect and WatchThatPage will tell you whenever a web page change. For more options, search Google using these search words: "monitor changes web pages". If you have a MS Windows computer, try WebMon:
Example: You are maintaining the translation of the portal for teachers at http://www.kidlink.org/english/general/index.html, and WebMon tells you there's a change. Edit the web address by replacing "index" by "dirinfo" and hit return to get http://www.kidlink.org/english/general/dirinfo.html . Locate index.html on the list, and look in the column called "Updates". Click at the date links. If you use Internet Explorer, then it will open the page, and the line with the change will usually be the first line displayed. On some other browsers (like AOLPress), the cursor will point exactly at the change.
