Patti's List of New Topics :)
- How can we draw in more kids from other countries?
One of my helpers sends a personal welcome to each new KIDPROJ
subscriber but we could never do that for each kid that comes in unless
we had more help.
- How can we get our kids to dialogue - not just post information?
^^^^^^^^
- How can we deepen the participation among our kids and help them move
from data to information to insight? (as Jamie McKenzie says)
As we work with the students I hope we can watch them grow as they:
- gather data from their global classmates
- take that data, manipulate it, organize it, evaluate it into
"information"
- and from this information... be stirred to some kind of action or
strategies as they reach new insights
- and form new global friendships
- What can we do to be of more help to our adult leaders as they work
with the kids? Many sign up for projects but never participate.
- Volunteers rush to sign up to help us... then fade away and are ghosts.
How can we get good ones who will stay?
- Some people on our lists (KIDCORE and CONFER1) are very quiet. What is
the reason? Language? How can we help bridge this barrier?
- Project lists and Cafe lists are now in the language areas. What will
we do to encourage these kids, when they are comfortable with English, to
join the larger, global, community? I don't want to see only USA people
on KIDPROJ. :-(
- Documenting our KIDLINK activities - our WWW. In KIDPROJ and KIDFORUM
we are trying to put the text from the kids on the WWW pages for each
project/topic. This takes lots of time and help but we are making
progress. We still need "tales" from the teachers as Lynne is trying to
gather in the "Village Cafe" pages. How can we get more to contribute?
- Our KIDLINK Institute - KRI - lots to discuss on this topic. ;-)
- KIDLINK is still too complex for many people. How can we make it
easier? Some people see us only from WWW pages and overlook the fact that
our work still goes across listservs.
