A "dirinfo file" is simply a list of
web pages posted in a web folder (or directory). Here's the
dirinfo.html page used in one directory on our web. If you don't use a dirinfo.html
file in each of your web directories, chances are that you are giving yourself
a lot of extra work. Because:
If you need to change something in the footer
of all pages, then it is fast to correct all pages without forgetting anything.
If you want to check to find something in your
pages, it may be a faster way of doing it, and in particular if you're using
the comment column.
It may also help your users to find information
that is not so easy to find (for them).
