Building Voice Tracks

1. Review the K-portal quotes logs. Select quotes to post to current voice tracks (for example, to the "Be friends" track).
   • Add quotes that are difficult to include in current Voice tracks to a working page (on you local disk) for later, one after the other, full quote as in the example below. This makes it easier , when time comes, to see if there are enough quotes for a new Voice track on a dream for the future.

2. Add new quotes to current voice tracks
   • usually, we'd only list a kid once, preferrably in the track most likely to be selected by the kid itself (for example, what the kid lists first may be the item of most importance to this person)
   • quotes without accompanying photo should be listed at the bottom of the last index*.html page in the respective voice tracks. Often, there is only one index.html in the track, but in /war/ there are several, including index3.html
   • Mail the kid quoted requesting a photo to use. When a suitable photo is received received, move the quote to top of the list on the first index*.html page. This will give the track more life.

     Sample text to include in a mail to kid requesting a photo:

     Why don't you send us a photo of yourself for this page? Other kids like to see how you look. A photo by your name may make more kids want to contact you. Send your photo to us at http://www.kidlink.org/gal-rms/new-submit.php
     In return, we will move you higher up on the page. :-)

   • quotes with accompanying photo of a kid should be posted at the top of the first index.html page. Photos should be floating right and left alternatively for better viewing.

Step 2: Building new tracks

1. Create a new directory on your local disk to hold the new pages. Example: /english/voice/drugs
2. Copy all .html pages of one of the simpler old tracks to the new directory. Gambling is such a directory (no extra index*.html pages, and no art exhibitions).
3. Use search/replace to fix links and texts on the new pages quickly. Hints for doing this in html (source) mode:
   • Search for /gambling . Replace by /newdirectoryname (as in /drugs . Do not add a trailing "/"
