How Kidlink Works

"In this drawing, I want to show the main dreams of kids in secondary school: a dancer, a mannequin, or an important soccer player. Their dreams show what good kids want of their future." By Sara (12) from Italy , 2004

A child, a class of students, and adults register by answering four basic questions, and send them in. Each registration is checked by a human. Upon approval, a confirmation is sent them containing a personal nickname and password needed to access Kidlink's private services.

Once registered, users are invited to join Kidlink's various activities, including interactive discussions, and educational projects. They are also challenged to become volunteers and run own projects.

Discussions and collaborations between kids take place through various Kidlink channels, ranging from KidCom discussion rooms, KidSpace communication and publishing platform, public mailing lists (Listserv) and private chat rooms to form-based publishing, collaboration and interaction channels (like KidArt, and web page forms). Some are public, and others are only available to registered members.
