They Cannot Subscribe

| Students in a class tried to subscribe to
Kidcafe-Individual. When they returned to the computer lab three days later,
each of them received a mail from our system saying that they "must confirm
the subscription within 48 hours," or else...
Promptly, they returned the confirmation code,
only to be told that the time limit had
expired. So, what is wrong?
The most common problem is students typing their return email address incorrectly so our system cannot send them mail. In our example above, more than 48 hours elapsed. Our system counts hours from the time it returns a request for confirmation, usually within a couple of minutes. Therefore, waiting for the next computer lab class is not a good idea! If everything fails, find the name of the moderator of the list you want your students to be subscribed to. Explain the problem to this person, and ask if your students may be added manually. To make life easier for the moderator, provide a list of all the email addresses to add. One address per line. We're sorry our procedure is a little cumbersome. However, we must ensure that it is indeed the correct names that are added. After all, anyone can send a mail on the Internet pretending to be from another individual's email address. |
