"What Are My Roots?" And Communications Skills

To me "My Roots" means my ancestors or my family.Where my family and my ancestors are from and who they really are. Yes,I made a family tree and I have mentioned all of my ancestors starting from my great, great, great, great grandparents. My name is Catherine. I was born on Febuary,14,1989 and I live in the beautiful village of Vaitogi. I was baptized in our church called the Congregational Chritian church in American Samoa. My name was given to me right when I was born.Well, I was named after my dad's mom and I'm not like her, she's quiet and hardly talks to anyone only when someone talks to her then she'll talk. But I'm not like that, I love talking even when there's no one there to talk to,and I hate being quiet,it's boring. My dad's mom doesn't like telling funny jokes like I do. Sometimes I make her laugh when she's bored that's why she calls me her little clown. Catherine from American Samoa .

Jeremy said: My roots to means my heritage or backround so I agree with you. My ancestors also are my roots because I came from them. Like the idea of a family "tree". My ancestors are at the top and I am the roots since I am the youngest along with my cousins. I am White,Korean, and Indian. My background has mostly been in the U.S. except for my grandparent in Korea. My heritage is korean and white so I do go by both culturals like eat both types of foods, celebrate both types of holidays, and visit both family members.

Chelsea said: I think "My roots" means the background of my family and where I come from. Our answers are very similar. My ancestors are important to me because they are who I am. I am Filipino. I was born in the United States and I have lived here since. Me along with my family, celebrate our heritage every day by eating filipino food and doing simple Filipino traditions.

Jessica said: My roots are almost the same as yours! My roots are mainly my family! And yeah of course my ancestors! My family helps me with all the problems I go through and my ancestors are the ones why I am here today! I am Korean and Filipino. When my family has get togethers we mainly do things as a whole family! so I see my cousins, aunties, uncles, and relatives all the time!

Gabrielle said: I think my roots are my background, my family my ancestors and where i'm from. I too think that my ancestors are important to me. I have lots of backgrounds but I celebrate being Filipino everyday because I eat Filipino food and live with Filipino people. But that doesnt mean i forget my other backgrounds. An i see my family like everyday because we have alot of family get togethers.
