Kidlink In Your Language?
Create The New Conference Room

Art by Jóhann from Iceland , 1998

  1. One person must assume responsibility for the new KidCom conference room, or mailing list.
    It is very
important to get others involved ! We do not want one-man-shows. You are not expected to do everything!
  2. Write the Odd about your plans. He will assign your language to a member of Kidlink's top management team, and guide you through the process.
  3. Recruit at least two helpers. Recruiting helpers from different countries will help you bring in participants from more parts of the world. Important: Recruit more helpers than you need  - in case a few drop out. Loss of helpers is inevitable.
  4. Prepare a welcome message in your language:
    • In KidCom, you may post the message to be displayed (in the lower right part of the screen) every time a person joins. Consider posting a welcome until you are ready to replace it by a calendar for your language.
    • Mailinglists distribute welcome messages by e-mail to subscribers.
  5. Draft an invitation to the new conference to distribute around Kidlink once it is opened. Write it in your language - with a short summary in English at the beginning. Send to the Executive Director for distribution.

Request the new KidCom room or mailing list. Include a short presentation of yourself, the names/e-mail addresses of those who have promised to help (3 above), the welcome and invitations (4 and 5 above). When your application is approved, work can start.

It is fun, and not so much work as it may sound!
