What If You Don't Find a Friend?
Some kids
get a new friend right away. Maybe they have a strange name or hobby, live
in a famous place, do something that gets attention, or are plain
lucky?
For others, finding a friend may take time. Not because they are unattractive or uninteresting. They just haven't met their future friend yet, a person to chat and share deeper thoughts with. So don't give up! Kidlink's four registration questions are there for a reason. For example, in KidCom, anyone may read them by a simple click at your nickname. Get involved in discussions in a positive way, and chances are that someone will click to learn about you. Our regular chats in the Who-Am-I? room is a place where you can get positively noted (and maybe find a friend). Kids who find you interesting, want to know more about you. Be prepared for their questions. One way of preparing yourself is by figuring out your answers to the questions about life in these lesson plans: Where do I live?, What are my rights?, My friends and family, What are my roots?. When you are prepared, you become self-confident and more secure when talking with strangers. When you have a clear idea of who you are, and where you want to go, it will be easier to find kids with the same thoughts and interests, and discuss with them. Next page: Finding them |
