Kidlink is about
answering the needs of satisfying the intense curiosity of kids via its free
worldwide network, tended to and supervised by devoted and knowledeable
Kidlink and other
qualified adults. Recognizing kid curiosity about other kids. Mostly about
what they have to say and what they think about. Their natural lack of considered
pre-judgement allows them to meet others of or near their age with complete
freedom and to share openly their worlds.
Watch a young one in
the grocery store exchange looks intently with another young one, and, if
opportunity permits, start a conversation free of reserve. Middle age adults
either look the other way, smile uncertainly and then look away, not knowing
how to respond, or if, when one nods and says something pleasant. That's
because they suspect the other person might want something. How in the world
did we manage to acquire this suspicion? Seniors as types are more relaxed
and quicker to acknowledge others and reply. That's where that beautiful
wisdom of maturity enters the picture. They have remembered at their end
of life's time span what kids instinctively know. That we should acknowledge
and get to know each other.
And so, form an
alliance with other seniors. Open up and talk freely about yourselves
and your grandchildren. Other grandchildren too. Not to agree to admonish
and say we didn't act that way when we were kids (ha!), but to acknowledge
kid curiosity and that it needs to be encouraged and their questions answered
from the wisdom of grandparent maturity.
You definitely have
something to offer to others. Talk it over with them. Join other seniors
and
Kidlink to share
the experience of passing on that treasure to kids eager to learn the wisdom
you've been storing away all these years. Take it off the back shelf of your
mind and use it.
Get friendly and acquainted
with kids. You will discover a new world of wonder and the pleasure of realizing
you have helped to make that wonder grow and last. Here are some key meeting
places to meet other seniors:
