Practical Ideas - Step 2

Art by Anna from Italy , 2002

The next logical step for your students is the "How to become?" pages. Example: How to become an actor?
  1. Let them review what other students have said, are thinking
  2. Challenge them to research the best path for them to walk. Suggest that they see if there are links at the "Links" page (Resources) that might be helpful for doing research. Suggest that they start with the Australian resource, Careerfutures, or some national or local resource that you might know about.
  3. Let them draft a path for their career life. Let them submit their drafts by responding to the form at the bottom of the "How to?" pages, or let them publish essays in KidSpace or KidCom.

Step 3

After research, your students should have quite some experience with the value of the resources suggested at our links page, and they may have found other resources that they consider better. Challenge them to:

  1. Use the form at the bottom of the Links page to suggest new, good resources. We will recognize their submissions by including their names by the listing. (Surely, non-appropriate links will not be accepted. ;-)
  2. Also, they may use the forms to comment on the usefulness of current resources. If they think that "Careerfutures stinks", then let us hear about it.
