What Is My Future Job? |
| Children's educational needs change
fast with increased complexity of society, division of labor, the rapid expansion
of the Internet, and a global economy. It is harder to prepare for a desired
future profession, and build competitive competencies and strengths that
may help the child find employement when
older.
Kidlink's My Future Job is a means for kids and youth to prepare for a future profession. It runs in parallel in several languages, all year long. It trains them in social knowledge and action networking with peers around the world. Our ultimate goal is to build broad collaboration to help them start realizing career dreams together, and take charge of their own development. As jobs' life cycles get shorter, students cannot expect desired jobs to remain the same during their whole life. It makes sense to prepare to be a learner for as long as they live. My Future Job lets students learn methods to prepare themselves for finding and keeping a first job, and flexibility to help change jobs later. To support their decisions, for example about what classes to take at school, the program guides them to investigate alternative future jobs that they might master and enjoy, share information, experiences, and resources with peers having similar aspirations, and effective use of knowledge and information as tools.
