| Suggested timeline for the I
Have a
Dream program
-
October:
Each of the first two modules contains two lessons. Your youth participants
do not have to do all the activities but should do what is needed to successfully
complete the module goals. Modules 1 and 2 should last only one month in
order to keep to the schedule.
-
November: - Module 3 -
Organize Projects
This module contains three lessons. Try to complete the activities in each
within a month. It may be best to divide the tasks among the team members
so that more can be accomplished within the timeframe of a month.
-
December, January, February, half of March: Module
4 - Start a Dream
Now the teams are in the heart of the program. They need lots of time to
get their work done. December includes holidays that may reduce the number
of working hours they will have for their project. Plan ahead of time how
to budget the time they must spend on each activity in their dream project.
-
last half of March: Module 5 -
Evaluate Your Dream
We are suggesting two weeks for this module which also has three lessons
paths. Youth will decide which lesson path to follow.
-
April: Module 6 -
Finance Your Dream
The teams have reached the culminating and very important module where they
will seek more funding or begin immediately to apply for an award for their
hard work. Voting takes place in this lesson and it is very important that
students complete the application form if they hope to receive an award for
their dream project. Judges will be doing preliminary voting as soon as the
youth have completed their award applications. After the judges select the
finalists in the competition, youth participants will vote for
