"I want to make a world like this one when I am older.
Clean rivers and forests. We cannot find any garbages there. People eat my
hand made bread there!"
Maki Okada - Japan
During the weeks of Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 you had the chance to define
goals, select the best team members for tasks and organize steps for realizing
your dream project. You and your team tried to figure out the important issues
related to your dreams and the best ways of making it happen. By doing this
you created a detailed idea of your dream and this structure will now be
published on the WWW for all to see.
Before publishing anything on the web, it is necessary to think about the
idea of making something public and the power of the Web. You and your friends
know that by publishing your ideas you cross frontiers and reach a lot of
other minds around the world. This is exciting and it makes you authors who
are responsible for content. Your actions say that what you publish is very
meaningful to you.
Some tasks will be essential now and you must be sure that:
Your pages reflect the basic philosophy of your dream
Your texts and graphics are clear enough
The navigation structure is easy to use so that users do not get lost
Your pages are attractive and have an interesting lay-out
In Lesson 2 you defined, inside your team, the members who have the basic
abilities of writing well, the ones who are talented in drawing, the ones
who will be responsible for technical help and many other functions that
you find necessary to make your page really interesting. Be sure that your
group keeps in mind that the Web is an engine with different and exciting
tools! You don't need to use all of them - just use the ones you find relevant
to your project.
Remember that a web page is a window and through it people will get inside...
or not! We are talking about communication and there are some examples in
newspapers, TV shows, videos, magazines and other web pages, that would be
interesting for your contents. When we think about media, we can imagine
that each form or expression is related to the other and some common tasks
can be useful for you. Just look around and think about that!
Teachers, coaches and youth! Remember to register for the program,
or add members or coaches to
your team. !If you have registered your Dream project in previous
modules you don't have to do it again.
The activities and discussions below are suggestions. Use these as a guide
for completing the program. You may always substitute other activities that
are more suitable for your needs.
