Module 3 - Organize Your Dream Project

Lesson 2

"I want to make a world where people and animals colive friendly."
Airi Kato - Japan

During the two weeks of Lesson 1 your team has taken many important steps necessary to make your dream plan a reality. You have clearly stated the goal of your dream and listed the work that has to be done to accomplish your goal. You have formulated a time line and sought the right people to do the job. By placing your advertisements for jobs in the global KidCom you have indicated your desire for a global team. You realize that you face challenges to facilitate understanding across several languages and various age groups. Now it is time to move into the actual day-to-day work of making your dream a possibility. In Lesson 2 you will:
  1. Select the appropriate youth for tasks at hand
  2. Locate and coordinate other support systems from school, your family, your community, the media and global organizations
  3. Establish needed resources within Kidlink (KidCom, KidSpace, KidMail, web area)
  4. Do the work of organizing your dream plan

Teachers, coaches and youth! Remember to register for the program, or add members or coaches to your team. ! If you have registered your Dream project in previous modules you don't have to do it again.

The activities and discussions below are suggestions. Use these as a guide for completing the program. You may always substitute other activities that are more suitable for your needs.

Let's Organize our Resources!

  1. Résumés have arrived and now it is time to make more decisions.
    1. Do you have a selection team? Perhaps this will be your project manager and team members representing each country on your team.
    2. How will you communicate with this team? KidMail? A special KidCom room your team?
    3. Will you use a scoring rubric to rate each candidate? Below is a sample scoring chart. Discuss with other youth in the I Have a Dream project how this rubric helped you.

      Scoring Rubric for Webmaster Position
      Résumés are scored on a 0-3 scale.
      0 = nonexistent, 1 = adequate, 2 = good, 3 = excellent

      Helga D. Denmark 3 3 3 0 3 12
