To: KIDPROJ@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU

We are students from Lone Rock School in Stevensville, Montana. We are in the 5th grade.

In Montana we have tall mountains that shimmer in the sun. We have good ski resorts, and they have lots of snow.

Our state tree is the Ponderosa Pine, the bird is the Meadowlark, and the flower is the Bitterroot. We have very pretty sunrises and sunsets. We also have cold winters, it snows a lot and the snow is pretty.

In Montana we have lots of animals. The animals we have here are very graceful. The types of animals we have here are deer, antelope, pheasants, birds, mountain lions, cougars, bobcats, buffalo, wolves, coyotes, fish, fox, bears, skunks, ground hogs, moles, rabbits, turtles, beaver, and snakes. Most of these animals are nice.

We have many lakes, rivers, and streams. Our streams have lots of fish in them and some of the streams have crab like things in them. The streams are clear, big, and pretty. Some of the streams have really big fish in them. The lakes are good for using speed boats and our rivers are good for using kayaks.

Our school is pretty big and old because it was started in 1885. The highest grade we have is the 7th. We have a big rock in front of our school and it is very lonely and that’s why our school is called Lone Rock. We have a big playground and a big field. We have two lunchrooms, but one is used for projects. We have a big gym and neat flooring in there. We also have a library. Our principal in Mrs. Scoles and she is very nice.
