We ate and slept during the flight
due to time difference. We left
around noon in London and the flight
took about 10 hours but we were in
Madras at 3:30 a.m. on December
15. Our friends were eagerly waiting
for us. We checked in the
hotel and went out to have breakfast.
One of the things I do not
like about Madras is the dust and traffic.
We went through the traffic.
Then we rested for a while. Then we did
some shopping.
India is a beautiful country.
Madras is now known as Chennai. If you
want to eat good food and buy good
fabrics, come to visit Madras.
Crimes in India: Someone told
me that there is a lot of crime in
India. May be your father
used the word corruption. I hear this is
true in getting jobs and college
admissions. As a tourist, I have not
seen this yet. Both of us
have never heard my parents talking about it
either. I hope things have
improved.
