My Granny

I call my granny Gran. My granny is the sweetest person. She is very special to me. On weekends if there's a good movie we watch it together and eat popcorn. When we go shopping she always buys me something nice. When it's time for my birthday she buys me very lovely things. My granny makes me laugh and if I have had a bad day at school she will cheer me up. My granny is the best granny in the world.

I call my grandmother granny. She is the best granny ever. I only have one granny. She is great fun to have around. She plays cards with me. We spend lots of time together because my mother works. She always makes the best lunches for my grandpa and I. I really love my granny.

My Granny

I call my Granny, Granny. I like to go to Exclusive Books with her because she also loves reading and she stays for a long time so I have time to look at all the books. I also love to go to our farm with her. She actually lives there. My granny is very kind and I love her very, very much.

My granny

I call my grandmother Gran. I enjoy spending the night with her when my mom goes out. My Gran lives in Newlands and next door to my friend Jessica. I don't see my dad's mom because she lives in Johannesburg but I often see my mom's mom. I enjoy baking with her and going to see movies when it is the holidays.

My Granny

I've got two Grannies. One of them I call Granny Pat and the other Gran. Granny Pat comes from Port Shepstone in KwaZulu/Natal. My other Granny was born in Holland and now she lives in Pinelands village in Cape Town with my grampa who also comes from Holland. Granny Pat comes down to Cape Town about once a year and she buys my sister and I many neat things. My other granny likes to bake and she makes very tasty Dutch cakes and buiscuts.

The way of saying grandmother in Afrikaans is Ouma (Ou as in obe, Ma as in Margaret)

The word for "grandmother" in Xhosa is umakhulu - pronounced "ooo maa koo lu"

The Zulu for GrandMom is Gogo, not as in "go for a walk" but as in the "o" in order.
