My name is Kae. I am a girl and 7 years old. My hobbies are swimming and practice in calligraphy or "Shodo". I call my grandmother "Oba-chan". I like to watch TV with my Oba-cyan. She add her comments for me about the programs. When I catch cold and absent from school, my Oba-chan cares of me. She is very kind. She is an expert of the playing beans bag, I have a hard training how to play it with my Oba-chan. I am going to grow my flower and present them for her A Happy Birthday.

grandmother in Japanese:

obaachan, obasan, obaba,

obaachan is usually we use for grandmother. obaasan is a little bit polite way to say.

If you talk about your own grandmother, you may say obaacha for friendly. And if you want to say another person's grandmother, you'll say it for obaasan for polite.

Obaba maybe uses in local places not in the city.

Those are the Japanese words for grandmother.

Thanks,
Isamu
