Inventions and Granny's Age

Artist: Natalia N.
Hello kids in the "Grandmother and Me" project,

It's _time_ for me to ask you to do something for us...

I have a special task for you. I want you to look around your house and tell us the name of something that you have in your house today that your grandmother could not have had in her house. Let me give you an example. On my desk I can see a digital clock. My granny would not have owned a digital clock because they weren't invented until 1970.

She was born in 1898 and had gone to heaven by then. If she had still been alive, how old would she have been in 1970?

I also have a digital camera on my desk. A digital camera by Sony was first displayed in 1981. How old was your granny in 1981?

What is in your house that your granny could not have owned? Here is a place where you can find information about inventions if you need to check some dates and inventions:

I've asked you to do three things. It might be a good idea to print this page and highlight your 3 tasks with a marker so that you don't miss any.

Have fun! Hope to hear from you soon,
Patti
