 Pre Writing
Sjöängsskolan, Kalmar, Sweden
Teacher:  Lars Lindell

We have now picked out the place to describe and write about. It will be the very old and famous castle in Kalmar. The castle is more than 800 years, and with a lot of towers, rooms for kings and queens, and deep down the prison holes. We went there with the class Wednesday this week, and we have collected lots of words - inside as well as outside.
After two discussions these are the words we forward:

Nouns: moat, landbridge, stonewalls, castle, secret door, canons, paintings, towers, wooden floor, kings.

Adjectives: old, patterned, cold, big, worn, dark-coloured.

Verbs: fight, smell, kill, dance, guard, creek, make war, build, make pretty.

Now we start producing the stories. And at the same time, almost every day, we write on the board the words from other countries, we locate all of you on the map, and sometimes we are almost able to "see" you in front of us. Great fun!

All the best from Sweden
