 LETTER OF INTRODUCTION
Rock Hall Middle School,  Rock Hall, Maryland, USA
Teacher:  Vincent Hynson

We are a 6th grade class from Rock Hall Middle School.  Our school is located in Kent County on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.   There are about 40 students in the 6th grade.  We have two sections 6A and 6B.   Rock Hall Middle School is in walking distance of the Chesapeake Bay.   As a matter of a fact we can see the bay from one our ball fields.

Our students come from the communities of Rock Hall, Tolchester, Sandy Bottom, Edesville, Fairlee, Georgetown, Piney and Skinner's Necks.  The two sixth grade teachers are Mrs. Ahrens and Mr. Hynson. Rock Hall is a small fishing town which boast visit of presidents George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison.   The town is know for its once thriving seafood industry.  The area has experienced many changes over the past twenty years.  The town that was once familiar to the locals has changed to a tourist spot.  There are many marinas in the Rock Hall area that draw boaters from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, New York, and New
Jersey all in a single weekend. The 6th grade will be taking a walking tour of Rock Hall.  We will be sharing
the sights, sounds, feel, smells, and tastes of Rock Hall's remaining seafood industry with fellow Through Our Eyes participants.

We are looking forward to meeting pen pals from around the world.   We hope to hear from you soon.
