Three of our students here at Mississippi Horizons in Brainerd, Minnesota, USA, volunteered to write our introduction:Hi, I would like to tell you a little bit about Brainerd, Minnesota, USA. It's a pretty exciting place. We have an amusement park called Paul Bunyan that has the largest talking animated figure in the world! It's based on the legend of Paul Bunyan. Another fun part of Brainerd is winter. You can go snowmobiling, sledding, and anything else you can think of. We go to Mississippi Horizons middle school and are in the eighth grade, which means we are 13-14 years old.
AmyI am writing to tell you about our school Mississippi Horizons. The students here are about 12 to 15 years old all going to grades six through nine. We have a new school with many computers and athletic equipment. I feel that all the students at our school are above average and are all very hard-working and self-motivated. If I had a choice of living in Brainerd, Minnesota, and going to Mississippi Horizons or living anywhere I wanted in the world I would choose to live in Brainerd. I would choose this because in Brainerd, the people are friendly, the buildings are nice, and the air is fresh and clean.

Hi, I'm just another one of the students here at Mississippi Horizons and I'm here to tell you a little bit about our state and area. First a little about our town. It offers lots of activities and opportunities due to our location and natural landmarks. One of our most popular attractions is our 10,000 lakes. With all the lakes in our area we have many watersports, boaters and tourists. Our cold winters and flat grounds with many trees make good snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails.
