 LETTER OF INTRODUCTION
Marion Sarah Peyton School, Marion, Maryland, USA
Teacher:  Mary Pruitt
Hello from Marion Sarah Peyton School in Marion, Maryland, USA.
Our 4th grade class is made up of 11 boys and 13 girls.  We are working on this project in the enrichment lab.  Our school has 246 students in grades 3, 4, and 5.  Our mascot is the bulldog.  Our principal's name is Mr. Todd and our vice principal is Mr. Borden.  (Mr. Borden is only in our school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.)  Each grade has an enrichment lab where we do lots of activities to help us learn better and to stretch our brains.  Our
subjects are reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies. We also have media (or library), computer, music, and gym.  The 4th grade schedule is a little different because we have recess before we go
to lunch.

We live in the state of Maryland in Somerset County.  Our school is in a little community called Marion.  Marion is sometimes called Marion Station because a train station used to be here.  We are also about 5 miles from Crisfield.  We have lots of water and marsh land in Somerset County.  Somerset County is on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  The Chesapeake Bay is west of us and the Atlantic Ocean is about an hour
away on the east side.

Most of the people in our area work with seafood or farm.  This is a quiet place to live because there are no big cities here. Last week we went on a field trip to a salt water marsh.  That is going to be the topic for our project.
We look forward to hearing from all of you.  If you have any wetlands in your area, we hope you will tell us about them.
